Support

Help for CrewHour users — employees, managers, and companies evaluating the product.

CrewHour is a multi-tenant time and attendance platform. Many companies use it, and each company has its own workspace. Most day-to-day account questions (credentials, PIN resets, timecard corrections) are handled by your employer, because your employer administers your workspace — but we're happy to point you in the right direction either way.

Get the CrewHour app

If your employer uses CrewHour, this is the app you clock in and out with, and where you check your own hours and timecard. It's free — your employer pays for the service. You'll need the Company ID, Employee ID and PIN they gave you; see the questions below if you don't have them yet.

Looking for the shared iPad time clock instead? That's a separate app — see CrewHour Kiosk below.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Company ID, and where do I get it?

The Company ID is a short identifier (for example, acme-logistics) that tells the app which employer's workspace to sign you into. CrewHour serves many companies, and each one has its own workspace — the Company ID is how the app knows which one is yours. Your manager or HR gives it to you along with your other sign-in details. And it's not limited to any one organization: any business can create its own workspace at crewhour.com.

I'm an employee — how do I get my sign-in credentials?

Your employer provides everything you need to sign in: your Company ID, your Employee ID, and your PIN. If your employer uses single sign-on (SSO), you'll sign in through your company's identity provider instead. CrewHour does not issue employee credentials directly — ask your manager or HR if you haven't received yours.

I forgot my PIN — what do I do?

Contact your manager or HR. They can reset your PIN from the admin console in a few seconds and give you a new one. For security, CrewHour support cannot reset employee PINs directly — your employer administers your account.

How does a company sign up for CrewHour?

Self-serve, at crewhour.com — request access from the homepage and you can have a workspace set up for your team. Any business with hourly workers can sign up; you don't need an invitation or an existing relationship with us. Questions before you commit? Email info@crewhour.com.

Why does the app remind me about meal breaks?

California wage-and-hour law entitles hourly employees to meal and rest breaks at specific points in a shift, and a missed or late break can mean premium pay owed to the employee. CrewHour's reminders and attestations exist to keep those breaks on schedule and to record what actually happened — they protect the employee's paycheck as much as the employer's records.

How is my data handled?

Your employer is the controller of the records in its workspace; CrewHour processes them on your employer's behalf. We keep time records tamper-evident and append-only, encrypt data in transit and at rest, and isolate each company's data from every other company's. The full details are in our Privacy Policy and on our Security page.

CrewHour Kiosk (the shared iPad time clock)

Some employers mount an iPad running CrewHour Kiosk in the break room or by the yard door, so a whole crew can punch on one device. It's a separate app from the CrewHour phone app, and you don't need an account on it — your Employee ID and PIN are enough.

How do I clock in at the kiosk?

Type your Employee ID, then your PIN, then choose Clock In, Start Lunch, End Lunch, or Clock Out. The kiosk confirms the punch and returns to the start screen after a few seconds so the next person can step up. You don't sign out — the device stays ready for the whole crew.

My Employee ID has letters in it

Tap My ID has letters under the number readout and the keyboard appears. The number pad is the default because a break-room clock gets used with gloved or wet hands, where a number pad is faster and harder to mistype — but IDs with letters work fine.

Why does the kiosk take my photo when I punch?

Because the device is shared, the photo is what ties a punch to the person who made it — it protects you from someone else clocking in or out under your ID. It's stored with that single time record in your employer's workspace and isn't shared, published, or visible to other employees. If camera access is turned off on the iPad, punching still works; the record is simply saved without a photo.

The kiosk is asking for a username and password

That's the one-time device sign-in, done by a manager when the iPad is first installed — not something an employee needs. If you're seeing it during a shift, the device was signed out or deactivated; tell your manager, who can sign it back in from the admin console. Punch on the phone app in the meantime so your hours aren't lost.

I'm a manager — how do I set up a kiosk iPad?

Create a kiosk sign-in for the location in the admin console, install CrewHour Kiosk from the App Store on the iPad, and sign in once with that username and password. The device is then paired to your workspace and ready for the crew. You can deactivate a device from the same screen if an iPad is lost or retired, which immediately stops it accepting punches.
